Upcoming Events is a CMS widget that lists the admissions events the selected applicant signed up for, each with its date, time and the instructions from its event category. Schools place it on the applicant profile page in Apply Online, so parents and applicants keep audition, visit and interview details on the same page as their admissions checklist.
Setting up the widget requires an account with permission to edit CMS pages. Writing the instructions in Campus requires the Admissions Full role.
Adding Upcoming Events to the applicant profile
- Open the Apply Online page that shows the applicant profile, the page that holds the Inquiry Selector and the other Admissions Profile widgets.
- Click Add Widget, then Admissions Profile, then Upcoming Events.
- In its Properties, set Title and the other fields below, then save.
Each card shows the event category name, the date, the start and end time, and the category's Instruction. The instructions come from Admissions > Maintenance > Event Categories, as described in Admissions Event Category, and keep their formatting, links and images. Cards appear in date order, one for each event the applicant signed up for.
Important fields
Title: The heading shown above the widget, for example Upcoming Events.
Include Past Events: Set it to Yes to keep events that have already ended on the list. It is No by default, so only events that have not yet ended appear.
Collapse Instructions: Set it to Yes to fold each card's instructions under Instructions Label, so a family opens them when needed. It is No by default, and the instructions show in full.
Instructions Label: The label families click to open folded instructions when Collapse Instructions is Yes. Instructions by default.
No Events Text: A message shown when the applicant has no events to list, for example "Sign up for an audition to see your details here." When it is blank, the widget stays hidden until the applicant signs up for an event.
Note: The widget lists events for the applicant selected on the page, for the applicant's current admissions year. An event appears when the applicant signed up for it through an action on an active admissions checklist, as set up in Configuring Admissions Event Sign-up Process.
Note: An event category with an empty Instruction shows the event name, date and time only.
Note: The same instructions can go into event emails. In an Admissions email template with the merge type Inquiry Actions, the [[ActionEventInstruction]] merge field adds the instructions for the event category the family signed up for.
Note: The Admissions Profile Actions widget can show the same instructions on the admissions checklist. In its Columns, make the Event Instructions column visible. Each scheduled event then shows its instructions in a row beneath it, under the column's heading, and the column's hide setting applies to those rows.
