Dorm buildings, rooms, and room attributes live in the platform. Each boarder is assigned a room and a head of house, day or boarding status is recorded on the student, and next year's assignments roll forward from this year's, so the housing plan is a report rather than a spreadsheet.

PCR Educator.

Does PCR Educator replace a separate boarding app such as Orah or REACH Boarding?

Yes, for the residential workflows those tools cover (see the side-by-side comparison with Orah): dorm and room assignments, evening check-in, weekend and overnight leave with approvals, sign-out and return, health center visits, and the record of who was where. The difference is that PCR Educator is also the student information system, so those records sit on the same student as attendance, grades, discipline, and billing, and there is no sync between a boarding app and the SIS to maintain.

How does weekend leave work?

A parent or student submits the request from the portal or a phone with dates, destination, host, and transport. The approvals your policy requires are recorded on the request in order, so a dorm parent can see that a parent has signed before adding their own approval. Once approved, the leave updates daily and period attendance for those dates and marks the student as on leave in the house roster. Return is closed by check-in, and a late return is flagged.

Can dorm parents run evening check-in from a phone?

Yes. Dorm staff open their house roster on a phone and record each student as seen. Students on approved leave, travel, or at the health center are already placed, so the list to work through is only the students expected in the house. The record keeps who was checked in, by whom, and when, which is what an inspection or a next-morning handover asks for.

Do we need a separate student information system?

No. PCR Educator is the student information system, with admissions, academics, finance, and residential life on one record. A boarding school that today runs an SIS plus a boarding app plus a billing system consolidates all three, and the family sees one portal and one statement. The student safety platform page shows how attendance, leave, roll call, and dismissal share that record for day students too.

How are boarding fees, trips, and incidentals billed?

On the family account that carries tuition. Boarding fees are part of the enrollment contract, and charges that arise during the year (a weekend trip, a late-return fee, a health center charge, a school store purchase) post to the same ledger and appear on one statement, in the family's currency where the school bills internationally.

Does it work for international boarders and their families?

Yes. St. Luke's School serves families in 32 countries on PCR Educator. The family portal adapts to the family's language, bills convert to their currency, and leave approvals and check-in status are visible to a parent in Beijing or Lagos at the moment they happen.
