Northbridge University Continuing Studies serves 6,400 active learners across professional certificates, executive education, online degree completion, and corporate training. The division operates with its own admissions team, its own bursar, its own registrar, and its own marketing engine. Most of the platforms built for traditional university operations were not built for it.
The team had been running on a combination of a campus SIS that did not understand non-degree learners, an off-the-shelf marketing CRM that did not integrate with billing, and a homegrown enrollment portal that the IT department wanted to retire. Every term, the team reconciled three systems by hand to figure out who was enrolled, who had paid, and who needed a transcript.
What they built on PCR Educator
Northbridge selected PCR Educator and asked one question: how fast can you go live? The answer was sixty days. The team agreed to a fixed-scope, fixed-fee implementation and held to it.
- One record per learner spans inquiry, application, enrollment, billing, certificate or credit issuance, and alumni status.
- Modular course catalog supports semester sessions, weekend intensives, asynchronous online cohorts, and rolling-enrollment certificates. Pricing rules adapt to each modality.
- AI-assisted communications draft personalized re-enrollment messages for adult learners. Drafts go through a human reviewer before sending.
- Employer billing handled directly. Tuition reimbursement and corporate sponsor accounts run alongside individual learner billing on the same ledger.
- Reporting on completion, retention, and time-to-credential exports directly to the university's institutional research office without manual reconciliation.
Why under 60 days actually worked
The implementation moved fast because PCR Educator sized the work honestly. The configuration was scoped before the contract was signed, the data migration was bounded, and the team that ran discovery was the same team that ran the build. The Northbridge registrar called it "the first vendor that knew what they were quoting."
What changed for adult learners
A working professional considering a project management certificate now inquires through one form, gets a personalized response within minutes, applies online, registers for the cohort that fits their schedule, sees their employer's tuition benefit applied automatically, and tracks their progress in one portal.
