Health Visit Parent Contact is a notification trigger that emails a student's parents when the student is checked out of a health visit. The email goes to each parent or guardian in the student's household who holds a portal login.

The trigger sends as soon as the visit is saved with a Time Out value, from either the health visit page or the visit edit window. It does not wait for the overnight send that most notification triggers use.

Each parent receives one email per visit. Editing the visit afterwards, including correcting the check-out time, does not send a second email.

Recipients come from the visit itself: the parents of the student who was checked out, for students with a current enrollment. A Merge Filter is not offered for this trigger, because the health visit supplies the record.

Important fields:

Category: Health Visit Parent Contact.

Recipient / Data Relationship: Parent/Health Visit. This is the only relationship offered for this trigger.

Email Template (Health Visit): Lists the templates whose merge type is Health Visit. Create one from the Health Visits list using the Email Merge multi-action before creating the trigger, so that the list has an entry to choose.

Require Opt In: Leave this cleared so that each parent receives the email. When it is selected, only parents who have opted in on their notification preferences receive it.

Note: No filter narrows this trigger. The visit supplies both the record and the recipients, so every visit saved with a Time Out value notifies that student's parents, and the Eligible Recipients Filter (User) does not change who is addressed. Require Opt In is the one setting that changes the audience, and it selects by parent rather than by visit.
