Inquiry Actions (Admissions) is a notification trigger that emails the people connected to admissions actions, such as event sign-ups, interviews and recommendations, when those actions match the trigger's Merge Filter. One trigger can remind families before an audition they signed up for, or remind a recommender that a recommendation has not been submitted.
One of the following roles is required to access the Notification Triggers page: Admin Full, Admin Read, Admissions Full, Admissions Read, Development Full, Development Read, Finance Full, Finance Read, FinancialAid Full, FinancialAid Read, Health Full, Health Read, Phone Full, Registrar Full, Registrar Read, Scheduling Full, Scheduling Read, Security Full.
Which actions qualify
The Merge Filter (Action) decides which actions the trigger sends about. It is a saved filter on Combined Actions, and every condition the trigger applies comes from it, for example Event Category, Event, Action Type Name, Academic Year, Scheduled Date and Action Date. Include Action Date is empty in the filter to limit the trigger to actions that are not completed.
Each matching action produces its own email, merged with that action's details. When the Scheduled Date of an action changes, for example when an audition moves to another day, the action counts as a new record and can be emailed again.
Who receives the email
Recipient / Data Relationship sets the audience:
Action/Recommendation Teacher: the user whose login email matches the recommendation teacher email on the action.
Action/Assigned To: the user the action is assigned to.
Action/Applicant's Parent: each parent portal login linked to the applicant's household.
Action/Applicant: the applicant's own portal login.
The Eligible Recipients Filter (User) can narrow the recipients further. When Require Opt In is checked, only users who opted in on their notification preferences receive the email.

- Select the Recipient / Data Relationship.
- Select an Eligible Recipients Filter (User) and a Merge Filter (Action). Both are required.
- Select an Email Template (Action). Only email templates with the Inquiry Actions merge type are listed.

- Under Visible for Roles, select at least one role.
- Click Save, then review Estimated Sendings.
Merge fields for event emails
An email template with the Inquiry Actions merge type can show the event of each action: [[ActionEventName]] adds the event name, [[ActionEventTime]] the event date and time, [[ActionEventDetails]] the description entered on the event, [[ActionEventInstruction]] the instructions on the event category, and [[ActionEventNote]] the event note. [[StudentFirstName]] and [[StudentLastName]] add the applicant's name.
Example: To remind families about an audition, set Recipient / Data Relationship to Action/Applicant's Parent, use a Merge Filter on Combined Actions with Event Category set to the audition category, a Scheduled Date range covering the next few days, and Action Date is empty, and set Send Rate to Daily with Minimum days between fires set to 30. Each family then receives one reminder per sign-up, in the first daily run after the sign-up enters the date range.
Note: This trigger was previously named Action Reminder (Admissions) and always emailed the recommendation teacher about actions past their scheduled date that were not completed. Existing triggers keep that behaviour: each now uses a copy of its Merge Filter, named with "- legacy" at the end, that adds Scheduled Date before today and Action Date is empty, and its Recipient / Data Relationship shows Action/Recommendation Teacher.
For the settings shared by every trigger, see Notification Trigger.
