Schedule List is a CMS widget that lists the classes of the student selected on a portal page, with the course, section, teacher, semester, room and period of each class. The widget can be found within the Student Profile group. Please review Adding CMS Widget for more information.
Each row is one class section. The list is ordered by student, semester, period and course, and visitors can sort it by clicking a column heading. When there are no classes to show, the widget shows No records found.
Title is the heading shown above the list when the widget is placed in a panel.
Columns chooses which columns appear, the Header Text of each, and the screen size at which each column hides (Hide). Course, Section, Teacher, Semester, Room, Room Description, Period and Quarter show by default. First Name, Last Name, Short Course Name, Section Name, Teacher 2 and Syllabus are hidden by default. Teacher shows the teacher as Last Name, First Name, and Quarter shows All when the class is not limited to one quarter.
Show Students determines whose classes appear.
- Show Selected Student lists the classes of the student selected on the page.
- Show Household Students lists the classes of every student in the selected household. Make the First Name and Last Name columns visible so visitors can tell the students apart.
Show All Semesters lists the classes of every semester in the school year. When it is not checked, only classes in the current semester appear: the semester whose dates in Admin > Maintenance > Marking Period Info include today.
Show Year determines the school year. Current Year lists this year's classes and Next Year lists the classes the student is scheduled for next school year.
Selected Schools limits the list to courses in the selected schools. Note: Select at least one school. With no school selected, the widget shows No records found.
Student Filter limits the list to students in the selected saved student filter. When it is empty, no filter applies.
Linking course and teacher names
Course and teacher names can open other CMS pages. A name with no page to open is shown as plain text.
Teacher Page Presenter Page is the CMS page that opens in a new tab when a visitor clicks a teacher name. The link passes the teacher to the page, so a Teacher Page Presenter widget on that page shows the teacher's own page. A teacher name links only when the teacher has saved a Teacher Page with the Teacher Page widget in the Staff group, unless Link All Teachers is checked.
Link All Teachers links every teacher name to the Teacher Page Presenter Page, including teachers who have not saved a Teacher Page. Use it when the presenter page shows information from the teacher record, such as the teacher's schedule or bio. A page built on the Teacher Page Presenter widget shows only the Teacher Pages that teachers have saved.
Teacher Community Page is the CMS page that opens when a visitor clicks the name of a teacher who has a Content Type of their own, created with the Teacher Page Wizard widget in the Staff group. Clicking the name selects that teacher's Content Type and opens the page, so widgets on it that show content for the selected Content Type show the teacher's content.
Course Page Presenter Page is the CMS page that opens in a new tab when a visitor clicks a course name. The link passes the course and section to the page, so a Course Page Presenter widget on that page shows the class page. A course name links only when a Class Page has been saved for the class section with the Class Page widget in the Course group.
Course Community Page is the CMS page that opens when a visitor clicks the name of a course whose class section has its own Content Type, such as one created as described in CMS Widget - Class Minisite Wizard. Clicking the name selects the class section's Content Type and opens the page.
Syllabus Presenter Page is the CMS page that opens in a new tab when a visitor clicks View in the Syllabus column. View appears for a class section that has a syllabus document for the current semester. Make the Syllabus column visible in Columns to use it.
Example: To open a teacher profile page with the teacher's schedule from every teacher name, set Teacher Page Presenter Page to that page, check Link All Teachers, and leave Teacher Community Page empty.
The widget also has the settings described in CMS Widget - Standard Properties.
