Section List

A Section List is the Record List of course section records. It is available in these modules:

- Admin > Courses > Sections. You need the Registrar Full or Registrar Read role.
- Scheduling > Courses > Sections. You need the Scheduling Full or Scheduling Read role.

The list always shows the sections of the selected school division. It does not have include all or all divisions checkboxes. The Admin list always shows the current year schedule. The Scheduling list shows whichever year is chosen in the Current Year Schedule or Next Year Schedule selector.

Each row is one section of one course, and every column shows one line for each term the section meets in.

Column explanations:

Term is the word PCR Educator uses for the semesters or trimesters of the division, and School Type in School Info decides which of the two applies. A division set to Semester has terms 1 and 2, and a division set to Trimester has terms 1, 2, and 3. The column lists the terms the section meets in, and the other columns list their values in the same order, so the first line of a column belongs to the first term listed.

Qrt is the quarter the section meets in. The column appears only when School Type in School Info is Semester.

Short is the short name of the course.

Course Section Id is the identifier PCR Educator gives the section in that term. Each term of a section has its own Course Section Id.

Min Grade Level Int and Max Grade Level Int is the grade level range a student must be in to sign up for the course, as numbers. Both columns are hidden by default.

Staff is the staff member who teaches the section, and Alt Staff is the alternate staff member. Alt Staff is hidden by default.

Class Schedule is the class schedule assigned to the section, which sets the days and times it meets. A section with an empty Class Schedule is not scheduled.

Name is the Section Name recorded on the section.

M, F, and O are the numbers of students scheduled into the section who are recorded as male, female, and anything else. Total is the three added together. The counts include every student who has a record in the section, whether or not the student is Enrolled in the division, and clicking a number opens the students it counts.

Capacity is the number of seats recorded on the section for that term.

WL is the number of students on the section's waitlist.

Id is the identifier of the course, not of the section.

Search fields worth knowing:

Every search field of a Course List is also available here, because each section belongs to a course. The list opens with Course Name selected.

Class Schedule finds sections whose class schedule matches in any term. A section without a class schedule never matches, so this field does not find unscheduled sections.

Meets Term 1, Meets Term 2, and Meets Term 3 search with Yes or No for the terms the section meets in.

Room searches the room number and Room Desc the room description, in any term of the section.

Section Count = 1 finds the sections of courses that have only one section.

Section Id searches the Course Section Id of any term.

Section Name finds sections by the name recorded on them in any term.

Staff First and Staff Last match either the Staff or the Alt Staff member, in any term.
