Students can now check in to the health office at a kiosk, signing in with their student ID or PIN and choosing a reason for the visit. Each check-in becomes a health visit on the Health Visits list, so the school nurse sees who is waiting, when they arrived, and why, before the student reaches the desk.
What can schools do with health office check-in?
Let students check themselves in. Students sign in with the same keypad as the attendance kiosk, using a student ID, a PIN, a name and PIN, an alternate ID badge, or their own portal login.
Confirm the right student. The student sees their own name before choosing a reason, and the success card shows their name, grade and school photo.
Record the reason in the school's own words. The Reason list is the one the health office already keeps on the health visit, and an optional comment lets the student say how they are feeling.
Keep the station ready for the next student. A reason screen left untouched returns to the sign-in keypad after 60 seconds, and the kiosk accepts only a student's own ID, PIN or login.
Give the health office its own kiosk. Health office check-in is a setting on the Check In / Check Out widget, so the nurse's station runs on its own page and records health visits only.
How does health office check-in help the school nurse?
The school nurse starts every visit with the student, the time in and the reason already on the record. Each visit carries the kiosk and the student's name under Entered By Student, and the nurse completes it on the same health visit page used for vitals, treatment and Time Out. With the Notification Trigger - Health Visit Parent Contact in place, that same Time Out emails the family when the student heads back to class.
Questions schools ask
Does the health office kiosk record attendance? No. It records a health visit for each check-in, so the front-desk attendance kiosk keeps its own role.
Can a parent check a child in at the health office kiosk? No. The kiosk accepts the student's own ID, PIN or login, so every visit starts with the student who is standing at the station.
