Period Codes in Campus Scheduling are now called Class Schedules, at Scheduling > Class Schedules and on every page, tab, list column, import, and multi-action that works with them. Every class schedule your school has set up keeps its blocks, its inclusions, and its course sections, so schedulers carry on with the same records under a clearer name.
Where do schools find Class Schedules in Campus?
Scheduling > Class Schedules. The list of every class schedule, with each one's blocks, group, and course and staff inclusions on its Details pages.
Course and staff records. Scheduling > Courses and Scheduling > Staff each have a Class Schedule Inclusions tab.
The Section List. The list of course sections has a Class Schedule column and a Class Schedule search field.
Imports. Home > Import has Class Schedules and Class Schedule Blocks.
Multi-actions. Add Class Schedule Inclusion, Drop Class Schedule Inclusion, Add Class Schedule Group, and Drop Class Schedule Group update many records at once.
How does the new name help schedulers?
A class schedule is the meeting pattern of a class across the scheduling cycle: which days it meets and in which blocks, including rotations and double periods. The name says what the record holds, so a scheduler building next year's master schedule, a registrar reviewing a section, and a new staff member reading a help article all use the same words for the same thing. The Knowledge Base articles use the same name, so a search for class schedules finds the setup instructions.
Questions schools ask
Do we need to change any of our class schedules? No. Every class schedule keeps its name, its blocks, and its inclusions, and every course section stays assigned to the same class schedule.
Where are the setup instructions? Class Schedule describes the record, and Creating Class Schedule walks through setting one up.
Who can open class schedules? Users with the Scheduling Full or Scheduling Read role. Renaming or deleting a class schedule needs Scheduling Full.
