FAQ: Why does a parent see The other parent is signing on the Application Form invitation list?

Posted September 26, 2026

The status The other parent is signing means that another parent of the same household opened the Application Form and is still walking through it. Only one parent per household can edit the form at a time, so the second parent is locked out until the first parent finishes or stops.

The lock is released twenty minutes after the first parent's last activity in the form. The status then changes to In progress with a Continue button, and either parent can resume where the first parent left off.

When the first parent has already signed, the status becomes Your signature needed with a Sign button, and the second parent signs from the invitation list or from the signing link email.

Note: The school can see who holds the lock and the sign status of each contact on Application Form Invitation. Review Application Form Signing for the full list of statuses.
