Copying Application Form

Posted September 26, 2026

Copying Application Form duplicates an existing Application Form, with its settings, pages, widgets, and menu, into a new Application Form that shares nothing with the original, so that the next contract starts from the current one. The page is found under Admin > Applications > Application Forms > Copy and requires the Website Full role.

Academic Year is the academic year of the new form, chosen from the current year, the three following years, and the five previous years. It can be the year of the form being copied, for a school that runs more than one form in the same year.

Copy creates the new form. The copy has the following properties.

- The form container and every page under it are duplicated, together with the widgets on each page and their properties, including the Application Form properties and overrides. Each page keeps its name.
- The copy owns all of its widgets. A change to a widget of the copy never changes the original form, and a widget marked reusable on the original becomes a widget of the copy only.
- The copy has its own menu. A new site map lists the copy's pages, so the menu and the Save & Next and Save & Previous buttons move through the copy's pages. The site map takes the name of the original's site map with the year rolled forward.
- The name of the new form starts with Copy, and the year in the name rolls forward to the target year. A form named Enrollment Contract 2026/2027 becomes Copy Enrollment Contract 2027/2028; the forms 2026-2027, 2026 / 2027, and 20262027 are recognized as well. Change the name on Application Form Details of the new form.
- The End Date moves forward by the same number of years.
- The Ledger, Proration %, Contact Email, Split Billing Category, No-invitation redirect page, Itemise aid on bill, Bill on first signature, Second-signer detection filter, First signer household, Accepted applicants: pre-enroll profile, On decline (accepted applicant): inquiry action, and Office countersign settings are carried over. The new form receives its own copy of the school's signature image.

After the copy, open the new form from the Application Form List and review the following.

- Application Form Details: confirm the End Date and the billing settings. The Signed (PDF) Action Type is not copied, because action types are named for a school year. Choose the new year's action on Application Form Details of the new form. The Office countersign: action type is copied with the other countersign settings; change it on the new form when the school's countersign action is named for a year. The profile by student status rules are copied.
- Application Form Invitation Type: invitation types are not copied. Create the types for the new year with filters that refer to the new year's statuses and grade levels, including the type for accepted applicants with a new Ready for Contract filter for the new year.
- Application Form Widget Properties: products are copied by id. When the school creates new products for the new year, update the Product on each priced widget and on each override. When the Ledger is changed on Application Form Details of the new form, the copied Product, Invoice Group, and Invoice Template values from the old ledger stay selected and are marked as not on the form's ledger until they are replaced.
- The form's text widgets: update dates, deadlines, and the year in the contract wording.

Note: Invitations, endorsements, snapshots, and signed contracts belong to the original form and are not copied.

Note: The copy is placed under the same template as the original, so the header and the styling of the original form apply to the copy.
